India's Central Bureau of Investigation has apprehended Ayush Varshney, the co-founder of Darwin Labs, at Mumbai airport in connection to the GainBitcoin Ponzi scheme. Authorities allege that the firm offered misleading high returns on cryptocurrency mining packages, and Darwin Labs provided technical support, including the MCAP token and GBMiners platform. Varshney faces charges of criminal conspiracy and breach of trust under the IPC and IT Act, 2000, following the Supreme Court’s direction for a CBI-led consolidated investigation. This case has emerged as one of the largest in India's crypto fraud history, gripping the nation's emerging digital financial market.
